Good questions
What customers ask us most
How long does it take to build my trailer?
Most trailers are built to order in about 4 to 6 weeks, depending on our schedule and how complex your setup is. Horseboxes take 6 to 8 weeks. Free-X and custom builds are scheduled once we have agreed the scope. We are building up stock of popular models, so ask us what is ready now.
Can you fit bigger wheels?
Yes. The Alu-X Utility and Shuttle can be upgraded to 15-inch wheels with a 1.6t axle and bigger mudguards. On the other models, bigger wheels and alloy rims are quoted on request.
Do you deliver?
You can collect from our workshop in Worcester, or we arrange a courier to anywhere in South Africa at your cost. As a guide, courier to Gauteng is usually about R5 000 to R10 000, depending on the trailer. Ask us for a quote to your town.
I live far from Worcester. Can I see a trailer before I buy?
You are welcome to visit our workshop in Worcester. We are also growing our network of resellers around South Africa, so ask us whether there is one near you. In the meantime, this site has the full specs and photos, a load planner, a tow checker and a side-by-side comparison, and we are happy to send photos of similar builds.
Why does an Alu-Star cost more than a steel trailer?
Aluminium never rusts, is lighter to tow, and holds its value for years. Every trailer is designed in CAD, checked with FEA and hand-built in Worcester. As one customer put it: “Alu-Star waentjies is nie goedkoop nie, maar dit is verseker klaar koop.” (Not cheap, but you will only buy once.)
Which trailer is right for hunting or rough tracks?
Choose the Tracker or the Ranger. The Alu-X Utility and Shuttle are luggage trailers, built for tar and good gravel roads, not for hunting tracks. If you will carry heavy loads, also choose brakes and the higher GVM, so you have the payload you need.
